Dark Service HQ
Sagi: A meeting in the middle of the night? I guess we do have to earn our keep.
Sagi: All right, my Wings of the Heart are good to go. Ready?

Sagi: Blah blah blah. Why is everybody so uptight around here? Let's go, Marno.

Sagi: Assassinate the emperor...? Leave it to the Dark Service to handle the dirty jobs. A high-ranking confidante sends his own men to strike down his master. And not just any master... this is the Emperor we're talking about, here. It doesn't get much dirtier than that.
Sagi: Then again, this could be our lucky break. I bet you never thought the Emperor would go down like this. Plus, we can use the money to put food on everybody's table! There's no way I'm passing up this chance. Are you with me?
→ Of course!

Sagi: A secret force of imperial elites acting exclusively on direct orders from Baelheit...
Sagi: Well, it makes no difference to us what sort of organization this is.
Sagi: Complete the mission and get paid. For the sake of the folks back home, let's just focus on that for now.

Sagi: You looked a little cramped in there, Guillo.
Guillo: Cramped? You know that sensation is lost on me.
Guillo: Is it finally time for action?
Sagi: Yeah. But try to keep it down a little while longer. Paramachina can't talk, remember?
Guillo: ......
Sagi: There you go! That's more like it!

Emperor's Residence
Sagi: ...Where does she get off calling me "ghost boy"? She could at least show you some respect, Marno.
→ What does SHE know!
Sagi: Yeah! She has no idea what you're capable of!
[[ → Maybe she's right... ]]
[[ Sagi: Aw, what does she know? You've bailed me out lots of times. I know I can depend on you, no matter what she says! ]]
Guillo: It's not just the girl. Look at your men. That's not exactly love on their faces.
Sagi: ...I suppose not. But hey, what difference does it make? I've got you and Marno on my side. We can take care of it ourselves.
Guillo: If he's even half as powerful as the legends say, we could take care of just about anything.
Sagi: You know I don't like that.
Guillo: ......

Albali Sandhollow
→ Piggyback, piggyback!
Sagi: Don't YOU start in, Marno! Look, I'm fine, honest.
Sagi: For now, we may as well go with these people.
Sagi: If things get dangerous, we can just look for a chance to slip away.

Hassaleh Port
Milly: Oh, look! We're almost there! Time sure flies when you're chatting. Sheratan, here we come!
Guillo: Why don't you stop her? Sagi?!
Guillo: Don't say I didn't warn you.
Sagi: Aww, what's the harm? She's all by herself. I bet she feels so helpless.
Guillo: Helpless?! Oh, that explains how she trounced the same soldiers that had US at the ends of their blades. You could drop a ton of bricks on her, and the bricks would be helpless!
Sagi: Look, we owe her for saving our lives. Stop grumbling, OK? Come on, Guillo.

Greater Mintaka
The window is inlaid, and cannot be opened.
Sagi: Aww, we can't go outside?
Milly: Quit poking around, this is somebody's home!

Pherkad
Sagi: Why does he push himself like that? I feel a little bad for him now.
→ Me too.
Sagi: Yeah. He drives himself over the edge just to find some kind of purpose. You know, maybe I don't feel bad. Maybe I envy him.
Guillo: Sagi, this isn't what we're here for.
Milly: [concerned] Ready to go?

Election speeches
Sagi: A lot of good it did him. We weren't any help at all. Not once did we manage to stop promachination.
Guillo: Stop brooding, Sagi. Maybe that's how it turned out. But we did succeed in making each nation's leader aware of the threat machina poses. Vanquishing a machina arma is no simple task. And with all the fuss over Malpercio's afterlings – just be content that you're still alive.
Sagi: You're right. Thanks, Guillo. Sorry I was being a drag...
Guillo: I'm not trying to cheer you up. I'm only recounting the simple truth: We've done everything we can. The rest is between Verus and Baelheit, if you ask me.
Sagi: Wait – you're saying we should back out of helping the quaestor?
Guillo: That's right. His problems are beyond anything we can solve now. The same goes for that mess with the past and the gods. That's between the afterlings and -
Sagi: And me, right?
Guillo: ......
Sagi: Every time an afterling is defeated, we find ourselves back in the age of the gods. I hear its cries tearing through my mind – and when I wake up, we're in the past.
Guillo: Don't you see? It's too dangerous to get involved any further. This feels wrong, Sagi.
Milly: ......
Sagi: I'm not going to back out.
Guillo: Sagi!
Sagi: I don't understand what's going on with the afterlings or being thrown into the past. But either way, I can't forgive what Baelheit's doing. Especially now that I've seen the other islands – how they've all got their own personalities, their own cultures. With promachination, Baelheit's trying to paint them all grey. That doesn't sit well with me.
Milly: Even... Even if machina proved to be something people could use?
Sagi: Even then.
Guillo: So you're willing to wink at mortal peril just because promachination "doesn't sit well" with you?
Sagi: Isn't that reason enough? Cleaving continents in two, yanking out people's wings of the heart... It's not OK to do things like that.
Guillo: All right. I go where you go. If that's your decision, then I'll go with you, no matter how far.
Sagi: Guillo!
Guillo: But don't come crying to me later.
Milly: It's OK if he cries... 'Cause I'll be there to cheer him up! I'm going too. I'm sticking with you, Sagi!
Sagi: Milly!
→ I'm in, too!
Sagi: Thank you, guys. You're the best.

Milly: Wait! Just hold on! What are you doing?! This isn't what you promised! Father! Make them stop!
Baelheit: ......
Guillo: "Father"?! What's going on, Milliarde?
Sagi: Step aside, Milly.
Milly: Wait, I'll talk to him. Please, Sagi, calm down!
Sagi: Get out of my way! That's my MOTHER up there!
Milly: I know. I know, Sagi. Just hold -
[WHACK]
Milly: Aah!!
Sagi: What the HELL do you think you're doing?! All of you, MOVE! Get your hands off my mom!
Shanath: Do it!
Gena: Ungh... Sagi! No... Aaaaaaaagh!
Sagi: You bastards!
Shanath: What's the matter, Sagi? Your mother's right there. Take a good look. Embrace your rage! Let your emotions overtake you!
Sagi: SHANATH! Rrraaaaahhh! [mist] Uah, muahh, unnh... MUAAAAAAAARRRRGH!

Sagi: I... I was... shot? And... and that sent me to the past...

Heart-to-heart
→ Sagi! Wake up!
Sagi: Where am I...
→ Sagi! Are you all right?
Sagi: Unhh... Marno... you're safe. I'm all right. Somehow I made it.
→ Do you remember...?
Sagi: Yeah, everything. What about you?
→ I remember.
Sagi: In the age of the gods, everyone called me by your name. So that means... in that world, I must have been you, Marno. You're not a guardian spirit, are you... Marno, you're -
→ Malpercio.
Sagi: That's right. Malpercio. The god who rebelled a thousand years ago and lost... only to be broken apart and sealed away. That was you, Marno. One of the pieces that wasn't sealed took root inside me. So... whenever one of Malpercio's afterlings was defeated, your memories came flowing into my mind... and then finally I went crazy, just like Bein and Celsica did. Mom was the trigger that set me off...
Sagi: Heh. All this time I thought I was a spiriter... But that wasn't true at all.
→ ......
Sagi: When I first felt you there, I was so happy. I thought, "Great... now I have a friend." But I was just as scared as I was happy. I felt like I had to be nice to you, like I had to make things work... After all, we'd be sharing the same heart forever.
Sagi: Marno... Maybe you didn't know who you were. But neither did I! You were closer to me than anyone else I knew, and I never knew a thing about you! What was I supposed to do?! "Spiriters are a chosen few. They have the power to sway the world's future..." Give me a freaking BREAK! Suddenly I had someone else's mind taking a lease out on my heart... But no one understood me! No one ever believed me!
Sagi: I always wondered why I was so different from everybody else. I thought, wouldn't it be great if you just went away.
Sagi: ...But not anymore. Now I finally know who you are.
Sagi: I don't care if you're not a guardian spirit. I don't care if you're Malpercio! You could have been anything and it wouldn't matter!!
→ Sagi...
Sagi: ......
→ What comes next?
Sagi: Ever since I lost control, I can feel your presence inside me growing. You're Malpercio. So I guess you must be trying to consume me. Pretty soon your heart will overtake mine completely... and eventually, I'll disappear – because your heart is so much stronger than mine...
→ No, I don't want that!
Sagi: But that's what's happening.
→ What should I do?
Sagi: You have to choose. Will you be part of me? Or will I be part of you? This is important. I want you to think it through before you decide. No matter what you choose, I won't have any regrets.

→ You be part of me.
Sagi: ... All right. If that's your decision... Let my story end here.
Sagi: I'm ready, Marno. It's your story now.

→ I'll be part of you.
Sagi: ... Marno! You mean you'll stay with me? We can still travel together?!
Sagi: Amazing... I can feel it, Marno! My heart feels lighter... It's filling with strength!
Sagi: Incredible! This is your power? Thank you! I'm glad we're still together.
→ Likewise!

Milly: Sagi!
Guillo: You're all right!
Sagi: Milly, Guillo! Thank goodness!
Guillo: Oh, Sagi... Praise the stars for keeping you safe.
Sagi: Guillo! Where's Mom? Is Mom OK?
Milly: Don't worry – she's safe, too. When you... When the afterling consumed you, we were sent back to the age of the gods, and – after it was over, Guillo and I found ourselves back in the plaza. You were about to collapse... During the commotion we took your mother and fled Mintaka. She's recuperating in Hassaleh now. Tik and Wacho are taking turns looking after her.
Sagi: I see... So Mom made it out. That's a relief.
Guillo: Wait, Marno! Is he all right?
Sagi: Don't worry, he's still here.
Guillo: Good. I'm glad to hear it.
Milly: Hey, Sagi... There's something that I really need to tell you.
Sagi: I know.
Milly: Then you remember?
Sagi: My mind was on other things at the time... but I did hear what you said. You called Baelheit "Father."
Milly: Yeah... Please, let me explain! It's different now, I'm not -
Sagi: I know. You've traveled with me all this time...I trust you, Milly.
Milly: Sagi...
Sagi: If it'll make you feel better, you can tell me anything you want. But let's get out of here first. If we dawdle any longer, we're going to have company. OK?
Milly: ...OK.

Vega Building Site
Shanath: Hold it right there, please. I can't allow you to run loose any longer.
Guillo: Shanath! You fiend!!
Shanath: Don't get so wound up, puppet. I promise each of you will be put out of your misery in turn.
Sagi: Go to hell, you son of a bitch! You hurt my mother!
Shanath: Oh my, aren't we a bundle of energy? No surprise. You were the only subject able to reconcile with the afterling inside him.
Sagi: Subject?
Milly: ......
Shanath: I gather she still hasn't told you. That's all right. My orders are to spare you, but as it turns out, I have my own agenda. And the notion of letting a monster run loose with a wicked god inside him is one I will NOT ENTERTAIN!
Shanath: Now... my arma and I are going to bring this fiasco to a close. Your days in this world are over!

Guillo: You're one of them, aren't you. A malideiter.
Shanath: Very perceptive. Sadly, my body didn't make a good home for the afterling. No, there's nothing sad about that. I was lucky. I never had to turn into a monster like you and those other wretches.
Sagi: You're saying I'm one of them? People made me like this?!
[He looks down at himself just long enough for Shanath to run away.]

Shanath: Go on, Sagi. Take your revenge and be done with it.
Sagi: You don't even have to ask!

→ That's enough! Sagi!
Sagi: I know, Marno. There's no point. Right?
Sagi: His "spirit" isn't going to give him much longer, anyway.
Sagi: Come on, guys.
Shanath: The Spiriter Project... It was supposed to make the perfect heir... not kill him.
Shanath: Heh heh heh... Oh... if my old man saw this... he'd die... all over again...
Girl: ......!!
Shanath: Savyna...

→ ......
Shanath: To think... one of the old man's experiments... would grow up to kill his son...
Shanath: Heh heh heh... Oh... if the fool saw this... he'd die... all over again...
Girl: ......!!
Shanath: Savyna! Stay... away...

Travel Log
To the emperor's residence
All right, Guillo's back with me. I've looked over the schematics. Memorized the layout. All that's left is the doing.
Our target is Olgan's chamber. There's no turning back now. Don't let me down, Guillo... Marno.

Dear Marno, it never mattered to me if you were a guardian spirit or not. Just that I knew who you are. And now I do. I know that you're really here – and you should know that I'm always with you, too. My story is your story. So promise you'll write it with me.

Latest entry
There's only one path left for me. The next time I crack this journal's spine will be when this has all come to an end.
Guillo. Milly. Marno. I hope we can fill a hundred more pages...
The three of us, together.
