Name: Sagi
Canon: Baten Kaitos
Magic: Light, Technomancy
Magic notes: Better at raw output than finesse or control. Excessive output sometimes gives him headaches.
Familiar: An "afterling", a canon-specific monster. Sagi refers to it as he/him and occasionally by the name "Red", but isn't 100% sure about the name.

Physical description: A horned demon creature with leathery brown skin, matted hair, veiny orange pulsating muscle all over its body, constantly twitching elbow tentacles and a second pair of eyes in the back of its neck. Default height is 6ft tall when rearing up, but it's usually hunched on all fours; it can grow to its original two-storey size on a temporary basis like other familiars. Does not speak aloud, only makes animalistic roars and growls. Capable of elemental magic channelled from its surroundings into its body and eyes.

Appearance:
- 5'8". Fluffy teal green hair, usually cut short and clipped up at the back, tied in a ponytail if it gets too long. Green eyes.
- Round-faced and youthful-looking even for his age.
- Unremarkable teenager voice. Slightly raspy. May squeak if startled.
- Can manifest ghostly bird-like wings as an alternate "form", including two long crest plumes and a wedge-shaped bird tail. They feel solid to touch and he can flap or fold them like normal wings, but they have no non-aesthetic function.
- Favours brightly coloured clothes, red in particular. A blatant JRPG protagonist type.
- If he looks like he's spacing out or talking to empty air, he's probably listening to the voice in his head.
- "Sagi" means "heron" in Japanese, but can also mean "fraud" or "lie". If your Japanese-speaking character would pick up on this for some reason, please feel free!
Personality:
- Friendly, patient, easy-going. Outside of a mild teenage sassy streak, almost always appropriately polite.
- Overly sincere and trusting. Not overly sharp. Places more stock in gut feelings than reason.
- Often impulsive. Bad at plans.
- Highly motivated to help people out in whatever ways he can.
- ...But a little distant in most interactions, if you pay attention. The main exception is people who seem like outcasts.
- Harbours a deeply cynical, self-aware side despite all appearances, but dislikes it and rarely acts on it.
- Likes high places, clean beds, sticking things in his mouth. Hates feeling trapped.
- Occasionally includes the voice in his head as part of his own sense of self. The line between them is blurry.
- Yes, he knows it looks weird when he talks to the voice in his head. Yes, he does it anyway.
